Mom and I were sitting on the couch and saw the girls dancing to"Yo Gabba Gabba" but couldn't see Sam...he had emptied this box out and was sitting in it, glued to the TV. As Matt says, "He has the makings of a real couch potato". and then the girls had to give it a try...

Tea Party and the Virgin Mary

Although all five of us have summer colds, I managed to get a few pictures from the last couple of days. Today the girls woke up from their nap and had a tea party together...these are the little moments that are happening more and more the older they get and are oh so fun!

Matthew and I just celebrated seven years of marriage! Instead of gifts, we took a mini vacation to Bald Head Island while the children enjoyed my parent's attention. I can't say enough about Bald Head, it is the most charming place I think I have ever been (and I have traveled to some pretty cool places!). First of all, you leave your car on the mainland and take a ferry to the island. Once at your rental, you have a golf cart(excuse me, electric car) to get around the island. There are very few shops and restaurants, lots of beach access, adorable cottages, beautiful pools, and great prices to boot! I have fallen in love with this place and hope to live there someday (I can dream, can't I?). We missed our kids because this is a very family orientated place and everywhere we went there were children, but we enjoyed getting away. Thanks Mom and Dad for spending time with our little ones!

A few broken rules here in this picture...Caroline is up past bedtime and Lucy shouldn't be on the couch (think it sends mixed messages that I took a picture of it?)

Thursday post, pictures from Wednesday

What a great day it has been today (make up for yesterday?)! We spent three hours at the pool, had a great lunch when we came back home, changed into dry clothes, and everyone (yep, me too) took naps. We also have leftovers for dinner, so we can play instead of cook. I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again...Thursdays are my favorite!

A visit to see Doc and M

I took the kids to see Doc and M yesterday (Matt's parents). Doc had been a little under the weather, but thankfully, he is feeling back to normal again. M had made a nice lunch and we played outside. Doc gave wagon rides, Sam inspected the steps and doggy door, Emma colored with chalk, Caroline twirled in her dress, M handed out cookies...and me? I took pictures, of course! who wouldn't be happy with root beer in their sippy cup?
