Faith, Hope, and Love

Today is Ash Wednesday, the day we begin to prepare for Easter. We begin to think about the importance of the gift of Jesus, we fast from meat, and we think about our transgressions. Usually, as a sacrifice or to acknowledge the sacrifice made for us, we give something up (Facebook is a popular one this year) for the 40 day duration of the Lenten period (46 days if you include Sundays). The ashes are made from the burning of the palms from the previous year's Palm Sunday and are a symbol of repentance and mourning to God. Giving something up can be difficult (it is supposed to be or it wouldn't be much of a sacrifice).

In church you will find symbols everywhere to help you remember God's love, scripture, the stories from the bible, and of sacrifice. I think jewelry is another great symbol. It is a great way to keep your beliefs close to your heart as well as share it with others.

Do you love jewelry too? It is a major weakness of mine, especially since finding Amy Peters. Her website is a fun place to visit and I find a new favorite every time I visit. My current favorites are from her faith and virtue collection. These sweet charms would be great on a necklace or charm bracelet and I plan on getting the girls and I matching ones.

Are you interested in having a piece from Amy's new collection? A piece to keep you focused on your Lenten journey? Amy is going to give you one!
Each of the following will get you an entry:
1) visit Amy's studio and comment here on your favorite piece
2) become a follower on this blog
