New York, New York

Last week I went to New York City. It is one of my favorite places on earth and I was excited for my mom to experience it. We went with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and we had a ball. We stayed at the Hotel Casablanca (which I could write an entire review on) and enjoyed the daily champagne happy hour. We did the typical touristy things and ate at Serendipity, went underground in Chinatown, had pizza in Little Italy, waded through the massive amounts of rain on our way to Saks, Bloomingdale's, and Macy's and even went off in our own directions to do some shopping (it is always a thrill for me to take off on my own and get myself somewhere and back again...I need to get out more, don't I?). We ate at Carmine's for dinner, saw Jersey Boys (WOW! what a great show...right up there with Wicked), had nightly cocktails at the Marriott (have you been there? it overlooks Times Square and is the perfect after-show place for a drink), went to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and got an authentic hold-on-for-dear-life cab ride. It was a great trip and we are already looking forward to and planning next year's getaway.

  3. I'm so glad you guys had a great time! It is so rare to have a girls only vacation, and I bet that you loved every minute of it. You guys should make it an annual trip. Speaking of...I bet Matthew is looking forward to his annual golf trip after being on his own with the kids. ;)

Love the pics and I'll glad all is well with you! Take care!
